WHAT IS OMAN ?
"Oman" - is the "artist machine" En Egg shaped autonomous entity designed
with abilities to navigate in space and time. The egg shaped solid
corporeality of Oman is handcrafted out of metal. It gives the robot robust
technical stability, resistant look and unlike any other robot - a sensual
appearance. The top part of the egg shell is semi-transparent and allows
Oman's vision devices view from the inside out but hardly to be seen from
the outside - in special occasion internal light will disclose his eyes.
Oman is 80cm tall and corresponds to an average human torsoa robot who
actively uses its tele presence to engage with multiple expressions in media
art such as artificial artists and interactive performance robots. The robot
will simulate artistic sensibility and behavior in a continuous performance
presence. Oman is not a robot in the usual sense since the task is to carry
a persona rather then to carry out work.
